365: costume fitting
I’m really excited about this because this is the first production I’ve been in with actual production values (wearing a gold bikini in RENT doesn’t really count). I had a fitting the other day and the dresses are STUNNING. Some costume student back in the day went to all the effort of making ridiculously beautiful, beaded, hand-sewn gowns, and then on top of that, our awesome costume designer (of the frizzy hair), designed and made further items FOR ME TO WEAR! I can’t tell you how excited I am to have a leatherette, Pocahontas style vest with feathers MADE FOR ME…and these are only half my costumes. Check out the uber cool rendering of my character’s clothes, and my super funky hair that the designer drew to go with them!:
365: morning walk and truck wisdom
On my morning walk to the tram via the park one morning:
And the most hilarious truck ever:
Some favourites:
‘If you think this ute is dirty, spend a night with the driver!’
‘Save a horse, ride a cowgirl!’
‘My other toy has tits!’
The best thing about this was that this mammoth woman with long dirty blonde hair, a cutoff shirt with a denim vest, huge shorts and Blundstone boots came skulking past the car to get into the driver’s seat…
So much character potential!!
365: melbourne tales
A bit of a camera phone photo binge…I’ve been a bit busy this week.
Chalk Street Writer strikes again! Word on the street is the writer is a she!
And a bit further down the road:
And the sunset on the way to a friend’s gig last night (the colours are totally wrong…it was much pinker than that):
And today, wandering down Acland St:
